Netflix has officially renewed The Royals for Season 2! The romantic comedy, starring Ishaan Khatter and Bhumi Pednekar, became a big hit on the platform. It trended in 58 countries and stayed on top of the India charts for weeks. However, not all feedback was positive—critics and online viewers gave mixed reviews.
Despite this, the creators are ready to bring something fresh in Season 2. Co-creator Rangita Pritish Nandy said that they are still working on the new season based on what they learned from Season 1. She promised fans more romance, new royal characters, and deeper storylines.
Rangita also mentioned that the team paid attention to both praise and criticism. “The joy is in listening—both the good and the ugly—and using that to make Season 2 even better,” she said.
The Royals features a star-studded cast including Zeenat Aman, Sakshi Tanwar, Nora Fatehi, Dino Morea, Milind Soman, Chunky Pandey, Vihaan Samat, and Sumukhi Suresh.
Along with The Royals, Netflix has also renewed Black Warrant and Maamla Legal Hai for a second season. While Black Warrant will continue the Tihar Jail drama with Zahaan Kapoor, Maamla Legal Hai will bring back its quirky courtroom fun with Ravi Kishan.
So far, Netflix has not announced release dates for any of the upcoming seasons.
