Too Much is Lena Dunham’s new Netflix show. After her hit series Girls, people had high expectations. But Too Much is not trying to speak for a whole generation. Instead, it focuses on one woman’s journey to find love, healing, and herself.
The story follows Jess (played by Megan Stalter), an American woman who moves to London after a tough breakup. Her ex is now dating a social media influencer, and Jess is still hurting. She hopes to find romance in a new city and meets Felix (Will Sharpe), a struggling musician, at a pub.
Their relationship is full of sweet, awkward, and emotional moments. The show mixes funny scenes with deep, emotional ones—especially in Episode 5, Pink Valentine, which beautifully shows the pain of letting go after a breakup.
Megan Stalter shines in her role. She brings both humor and heart. Will Sharpe is also excellent as Felix, especially when he opens up about his feelings. There’s also a funny surprise cameo by Andrew Scott that adds charm and humor.
The show can be a bit messy at times, just like Jess. But that’s the point—it’s real. It shows that love takes time, patience, and courage.
In the end, Too Much is a beautiful and honest show about starting over and believing in love again, even when it’s hard.
