Virgin River Season 7 Delay: New Release Time Announced

Netflix’s popular romantic drama Virgin River is coming back with Season 7, but fans will need to wait longer. The new season was expected to release in late 2025, but it’s now delayed to early or mid-2026, according to What’s on Netflix.

Season 7 finished filming in June 2025. Shooting began in March in Vancouver, Canada. This time, the team also shot some scenes in Mexico—especially Jack and Mel’s honeymoon moments.

Season 6 Was a Big Hit

Virgin River Season 6, which came out in December 2024, was a major success. It was number one on Netflix’s English-language Top 10 list and got over 213 million hours watched in total. The strong numbers helped confirm not just Season 7, but also Season 8!

Cast and New Faces

The show stars Alexandra Breckenridge as Mel and Martin Henderson as Jack. In Season 7, some new characters are joining the story:

  • Sara Canning (The Vampire Diaries) as Victoria, a former cop turned medical board investigator.
  • Cody Kearsley (Riverdale) as Clay, a rodeo athlete with a dark past.
  • Matthew Harrison as Dr. Wilson.
  • Austin Nichols (One Tree Hill) will also appear in a new role.

The creators chose to film during spring to avoid the tough Canadian winters, which made earlier shoots difficult.
