Netflix’s series Adolescence has become a massive hit, topping streaming charts in 80 countries, including India and Australia. With its huge success, fans are eager to know if a second season is on the way.
Although nothing is confirmed yet, the show’s creators, Stephen Graham and Hannah Walters, have hinted that they might explore another story. In an interview with Variety, they admitted they never expected such a big response to their four-part series.
Originally planned as a one-time project, Adolescence has caught Netflix’s interest for a possible follow-up. However, if a new installment happens, it will feature a fresh story instead of continuing the same one.
Stephen Graham said, “Possibly, let’s see how the figures are. But yeah, there’s the possibility of developing another story.”
Hannah Walters also shared that while she would love to work with Netflix again, it’s challenging to follow up on something that has made such a global impact. She ruled out a prequel but hinted at new ideas: “There’s so much potential in exploring human nature again. Everything’s looking good … everyone’s happy.”
Adolescence is a four-episode limited series starring Stephen Graham and newcomer Owen Cooper. Directed by Philip Barantini, it premiered on Netflix on March 13 and quickly became the No. 1 show worldwide.
