One day after her 44th birthday, actor and former Miss India Celina Jaitley is back in the news—this time for a serious reason. She has filed a case against her husband, Peter Haag, accusing him of domestic violence.
According to the complaint filed in the Andheri court in Mumbai, Celina has accused Peter of cruelty, manipulation, and both physical and emotional abuse. She has also asked for ₹50 crore in damages and compensation for loss of income and property.
Celina shared a statement on Instagram, writing:
“My priority is fighting for my brother, my children’s love, and my dignity. A DV complaint has been filed for all the atrocities and abandonment I faced.”
Peter Haag is an Austrian businessman and hotelier. He has worked in branding, marketing, and luxury hospitality in Dubai and Singapore. Before marrying Celina, he held senior roles in major hotel groups, including Emaar Hospitality in Dubai.
Celina married Peter in 2011. They have three sons—two sets of twins. The first set, Winston and Viraaj, were born in 2012. The second set, Arthur and Shamsher, were born in 2017, but sadly Shamsher passed away shortly after birth due to a heart condition.
Celina has said she felt a strong connection the moment she first saw Peter at an event in Dubai. Later, Peter travelled to India to meet her family, and he proposed during one of their outings.
She also clarified that their marriage wasn’t a “shotgun wedding.” They married secretly in Austria in September 2010 with their parents’ blessings, a year before she got pregnant.
Celina is also fighting another battle. Her brother, Vikrant, has been detained in the UAE since September 2024 in a national security case. Celina has said she feels alone as she is his only close family member. The next hearing for his case is on December 4.
The next hearing for the domestic violence case against Peter Haag is scheduled for December 12. So far, neither Celina nor Peter has made any official statement apart from her Instagram post.
