Actor Dipika Kakar has been diagnosed with a liver tumor the size of a tennis ball. Her husband, actor Shoaib Ibrahim, shared the news with fans through a YouTube vlog titled Need Your Prayers. He said Dipika will soon be hospitalised again for surgery.
Shoaib revealed that Dipika had been experiencing stomach pain for some time. At first, they thought it was acidity, but when the pain didn’t go away, she visited their family doctor. Tests showed an infection in her body. Later, a CT scan confirmed a tumor in the left lobe of her liver.
Dipika was immediately admitted to the hospital for further tests. The doctors are now trying to find out if the tumor is cancerous. While early reports are not pointing to cancer, they are still waiting for final results.
Shoaib said Dipika is back home for now but will be undergoing surgery soon. The couple is also worried about their son, Ruhaan, who is very attached to Dipika and isn’t used to being away from her.
Shoaib emotionally asked fans and even critics to pray for Dipika’s recovery. He shared that Dipika was very upset after the diagnosis and started crying, thinking about their son first.
Dipika and Shoaib met on the set of Sasural Simar Ka and got married in 2018. They welcomed their baby boy, Ruhaan, in 2023.
