‘The Greatest of All Time’ (GOAT), starring ‘Thalapathy’ Vijay, kicked off with a bang, earning Rs 44 crore on its opening day. However, the excitement saw a dip on day two, with the film collecting Rs 24.75 crore in India, a 43% drop from the previous day. The Tamil version, which led with Rs 39 crore initially, fell to Rs 22 crore, while the Hindi and Telugu versions also faced declines.
Despite this drop in the Indian market, GOAT is making waves internationally. The film earned USD 3 million (Rs 25 crore) on its second day abroad, bringing its two-day overseas total to USD 8.60 million (Rs 72 crore). With an extended weekend ahead, GOAT is on track to potentially become Vijay’s highest-grossing film internationally.
While the global opening of Rs 126.32 crore is less than Vijay’s last hit ‘Leo,’ GOAT is set to cross Rs 275 crore by the end of its opening weekend, showcasing Vijay’s massive star power and global appeal.
