Bayaan, starring Huma Qureshi and directed by Bikas Ranjan Mishra, will have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) 2025. It’s the only Indian film selected for the Discovery section.
Huma calls Bayaan a “timely and powerful story” about a woman trapped between power, faith, and a system that tries to silence her. She plays a character inside the justice system, fighting forces bigger than herself.
Bikas Ranjan Mishra says the film is his way to bear witness to a changing society and to the quiet courage of people who speak up. He’s honoured to present his second feature at TIFF’s Discovery section.
Alongside Huma, the film features Chandrachur Singh, Sachin Khedekar, Paritosh Sand, Avijit Dutt, Vibhore Mayank, Sampa Mandal, Swati Das, Aditi Kanchan Singh, and Perry Chhabra.
