Fans are eagerly waiting for the new Avatar movie, Avatar: Fire and Ash. Adding to the excitement, director James Cameron shared his wife Suzy Amis Cameron’s emotional reaction after watching the film in an interview with Empire.
Cameron revealed that Suzy was overwhelmed with emotions and couldn’t stop crying for four hours. He said, “My wife watched the whole movie from start to end. She had stayed away from it, and I hadn’t shown her bits and pieces as we worked on it. She finally watched it on December 22nd.”
Talking about her reaction, he added, “She bawled for four hours. She kept trying to calm down to give me feedback, but she’d start crying again. Finally, I told her, ‘Honey, I have to go to bed. We’ll talk later.’” Cameron believes that audiences will have a similar emotional reaction when they watch Avatar: Fire and Ash at the end of 2025.
The movie is a sequel to Avatar: The Way of Water (2022) and the third part of the Avatar series. The film features returning stars like Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Sigourney Weaver, Trinity Bliss, and Britain Dalton. New cast members include Oona Chaplin and David Thewlis.
Filming for Avatar: Fire and Ash started in New Zealand on September 25, 2017, alongside Avatar: The Way of Water.
