Famous writer Javed Akhtar, who wrote the film Sholay with Salim Khan, recently spoke about how some people say the movie is “not great.” Sholay will complete 50 years on August 15.
In an interview, Javed said, “Even today, small characters from Sholay are used in stand-up comedy shows, film dialogues, and even political speeches.” He mentioned lines like “Tera kya hoga Kaliya,” “Arre o Samba,” and “Poore pachaas hazaar” are still remembered by everyone.
When asked why Sholay’s minor characters became so famous, Javed said, “I don’t know. If you ever find out, please tell me. I’d love to do it again.”
He also said, “Some people on YouTube say Sholay is not a great film. Maybe it isn’t. I don’t even know the definition of a great film.”
