The family of late actor Kim Sae-ron has filed a police complaint against YouTuber Lee Jin Ho. They claim he spread false rumors about her past relationship with actor Kim Soo Hyun. According to a report by Soompi, a press conference was held on March 17 at the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency.
The conference was attended by Kim Sae-ron’s family lawyer Bu Ji Seok, the director of the Korea Celebrity Suicide Prevention Association, Kwon Young Chan, and Kim Se Eui, head of HoverLab Inc.
At the event, Kim Se Eui said, “This is the first lawsuit, and we will take more legal action in the future.” He also asked Kim Soo Hyun to publicly apologize.
The family said, “In our hearts, we feel this is like murder, but legally it falls under defamation. We hope the court understands that the false information shared by Lee Jin Ho played a role in her death and gives him the harshest punishment.”
The family explained that on March 24, 2024, Kim Sae-ron shared a photo with her ex-boyfriend Kim Soo Hyun. She did this because she received a demand for debt repayment from Kim Soo Hyun’s agency. She tried to contact him but got no reply, so she posted the photo, hoping to get his attention.
