Veteran actress Moushumi Chatterjee recently spoke about Rajesh Khanna’s superstardom and how fame changed him. In an interview, she called him a “spoiled brat” and compared him to Amitabh Bachchan, saying Big B handled fame with grace and never acted proud.
Moushumi said Rajesh had a kind of stardom that no one else had seen—not even Amitabh, Dilip Kumar, or Dev Anand. She shared that when someone becomes so popular, it’s hard to stay grounded, and Rajesh started throwing tantrums.
She also said that Amitabh was always respectful, calm, and never surrounded himself with “yes-men” like Rajesh did. According to her, Rajesh Khanna always wanted attention and pampering, which led to his downfall after a huge rise. She called it “sad” how his career took a hit after such a high peak.
About Moushumi Chatterjee:
She was one of the top actresses in the 70s, known for films like Manzil, Roti Kapda Aur Makaan, and Benaam. Recently, she appeared in the Bengali film Aarii, about a widowed mother and her son.
