“Pedro Pascal On Why The Last Of Us S2 Affected Him”

Pedro Pascal recently shared how filming The Last of Us Season 2 affected him emotionally. During a press conference, the 49-year-old actor admitted that working on the highly anticipated HBO series put him in an “unhealthy mindset.”

Since Season 2 takes place five years after the first, the story has changed a lot. Joel and Ellie’s relationship is now strained, making the scenes more intense. Pascal recalled that his first day on set was special because he filmed an intimate scene with Bella Ramsey. Despite the emotional tension in the story, the two actors still found moments to laugh and enjoy themselves.

The Gladiator II star revealed that filming the difficult scenes between Joel and Ellie was tough. “There’s an incredibly painful distance between the two of them,” he said. However, having fun with Ramsey on set made things easier.

Pascal also shared that returning to the show felt like “coming home.” However, he admitted that this experience was different from his past roles. He found it hard to separate his own emotions from what the character was going through, which affected him in a way that “isn’t very healthy.”
