“Rahul Dholakia’s Jibe At Aamir Khan’s IPL Gig Backfires”

The IPL 2025 final ended in style as Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) won their first-ever title by beating Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Ahmedabad. The night saw not just cricket stars but Bollywood celebrities too. Preity Zinta cheered for her team PBKS, while Anushka Sharma supported husband Virat Kohli and his team RCB.

Aamir Khan also made a surprise appearance in the commentary box. He joined Suresh Raina and Aakash Chopra for a short 20-minute Hindi commentary during the final. While promoting his upcoming film Sitaare Zameen Par, Aamir also praised Virat Kohli, calling him a perfectionist. Some fans liked Aamir’s cricket talk, but others felt he was too biased toward RCB and Kohli.

However, not everyone was impressed. Filmmaker Rahul Dholakia, best known for Raees, took to Twitter (now called X) and posted, “Yaar picture ka promotion karo, gyaan mat baato,” suggesting that Aamir should focus on promoting his film rather than giving advice. He added that both Kohli and Preity Zinta deserve to win the IPL for their dedication. Even though he didn’t name Aamir, many fans believed the tweet was clearly about him.

Soon, the tweet attracted a lot of negative responses. Aamir’s fans slammed Rahul, calling the tweet rude and unnecessary. One user said, “This is such a cheap shot,” while another reminded Rahul of how he and Shah Rukh Khan gave “gyaan” during Raees promotions.

Due to the backlash, Rahul Dholakia later deleted the tweet.
