The roar of RRR is echoing once more — this time from the Oscars’ stage! Director SS Rajamouli’s action-packed epic starring Jr NTR and Ram Charan just got a big shoutout from The Academy as they announced a brand-new category: Best Stunt Design.
Yes, the Oscars are finally recognizing the jaw-dropping world of action and stunts — and guess which film they showcased? That’s right, RRR! Alongside Mission Impossible and Everything Everywhere All At Once, RRR was featured in the official announcement poster with the bold tagline: “Stunt Design Oscar.”
This new award will debut at the 100th Academy Awards in 2028, celebrating films from 2027. And RRR fans couldn’t be prouder! The movie’s official page wrote, “THE PROUDEST MOMENT FOR ALL OF US,” celebrating yet another global spotlight on the film’s explosive action.
After creating history with Naatu Naatu winning India’s first Oscar, and impressing the likes of James Gunn, Edgar Wright, and the Russo Brothers — RRR continues to show the world what Indian cinema can do.
