Salman Khan is busy promoting his new movie Sikandar. On Wednesday, he met the media in Mumbai and spoke openly about many topics, including nepotism in Bollywood.
When asked about being a “self-made” star, Salman said, “Nobody in this world is self-made. I don’t believe that. It’s always teamwork. If my father hadn’t come to Mumbai from Indore, I would still be farming there. His decision brought me here.”
He added that he chose to continue in films after his father started working in the industry. Salman joked, “People call this nepotism. I actually love this word.”
During the chat, a journalist mentioned Raveena Tandon’s daughter joining films. Salman misheard it as Kangana Ranaut. He jokingly said, “Kangana’s daughter is coming?” Then he added with a smile, “When Kangana’s daughter comes, whether she does films or joins politics, even she will face this nepotism talk.”
Salman also encouraged people to visit cinemas during Eid. He said, “I hope people get good Eid bonuses so they can watch Sikandar, Mohanlal sir’s L2: Empuraan, and Sunny Deol’s film Jaat. All three are big films and should do well.”
Sikandar stars Salman Khan, Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, Sathyaraj, and Sharman Joshi. It will release on May 30, during Eid.
