Actor Tamannaah Bhatia has silently shown support for Deepika Padukone amid the ongoing row involving director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film Spirit. Tamannaah liked a reel on Instagram that highlights issues women face, such as the gender pay gap, working long hours, unprofessional behavior, and sexism.
The reel included a throwback clip of Deepika Padukone from a press event for her film Chhapaak in 2020. In it, a reporter asked if her husband Ranveer Singh invested money in the film. Deepika responded firmly, saying, “This is my own money. Who told you that?” The video had on-screen text saying, “Propaganda she is not falling for: disrespect, men, sexism, gender pay gap, overtime work, unprofessionalism, and double standards.”
Tamannaah’s like on the video is being seen as a quiet show of support for Deepika, especially now that Deepika is being criticized by some over her role in Spirit and working conditions.
Reports say that director Vanga was unhappy about leaks regarding the movie Spirit, and some rumors suggested Deepika was behind them.
