Tanushree Dutta Pleads: Facing Harassment After #MeToo

Actor Tanushree Dutta, known for starting the #MeToo movement in India, recently shared a heartbreaking video on Instagram. In the video, she was crying and said she is being harassed at her own home. She also mentioned that she has informed the police and plans to file a complaint soon.

Tanushree, who rose to fame with the movie Aashiq Banaya Aapne in 2005, said she has been facing harassment for the last five years. “I’m not well. I’ve been harassed so much that I’ve fallen sick. I can’t work. I can’t even keep housemaids because some of them create problems,” she said.

In another post, Tanushree shared a dark video with loud noise in the background. She said she often hears banging sounds outside her home at odd hours. “I’ve been listening to Hindu mantras on headphones just to stay calm. I have chronic fatigue because of all this stress,” she wrote.

Tanushree also said that she would share everything with the police while filing her FIR.

Tanushree won the Femina Miss India Universe crown in 2004. She acted in films like Dhol, Bhagam Bhag, and Aashiq Banaya Aapne. In 2018, she accused actor Nana Patekar of harassment on a film set in 2008. Though she filed a police complaint, Nana Patekar was cleared of the charges in 2019.

Her last appearance on screen was in SuperCops Vs Super Villains in 2013. Her sister Ishita Dutta is also an actor, known for her role in Drishyam.
