Comedian Kunal Kamra is facing backlash over his remarks against Maharashtra Deputy CM Eknath Shinde in his stand-up video, Naya Bharat. Now, actor Vidyut Jammwal has spoken in his support while questioning the silence around Kamaal R Khan (KRK), who has made offensive remarks about India and women.
On Monday, Vidyut shared a video on Instagram showing KRK’s past comments. He also quoted a verse from the Bhagavad Gita:
“Kshatriya, you should not waver, for there is nothing more auspicious for a warrior than a righteous war.”
Vidyut then pointed out how KRK, who lives outside India, keeps making controversial statements, yet no one questions him. However, when a comedian like Kunal Kamra expresses strong opinions, people take action against him. He asked, “Do we protect politicians more than our nation and women?”
Several celebrities responded to Vidyut’s post. Actress Richa Chadha said, “I took him to court. Why can’t others?” Arjun Kapoor liked the post, and Ektaa Kapoor commented, “Good on you for calling him out!”
Fans also praised Vidyut for speaking up. Some comments read:
Kunal Kamra is in legal trouble after his ‘traitor’ remark about Eknath Shinde offended Shiv Sena workers. They vandalized his show venue in Mumbai. Police have filed an FIR against Kamra and arrested 11 members of Shiv Sena’s youth faction for the incident.
Vidyut was last seen in Crakk – Jeetegaa Toh Jiyegaa!, which didn’t do well at the box office. He will next appear in AR Murugadoss’ Tamil action thriller Madharasi, featuring Sivakarthikeyan, Biju Menon, and Rukmini Vasanth. The film is set to release this year.
