Selection day tries to show the love people have for cricket.

If you are a crazy cricket fan and have always loved the sport, this series may turn out to be a disappointment for you. The series is directed by Udayan Prasad and has many kids in lead roles. The main cast includes Mohammad Samad, Yash Dholye, Karanvir Malhotra, Rajesh Tailang, Ratna Pathak Shah, Mahesh Manjrekar and Akshay Oberoi. The series is based on the book by the same name.

The story revolves around two brothers and their father who wants to make sure his sons are chosen to play at the Selection day. The boys are from Madhya Pradesh and their father relocates them to Mumbai to chase his dream to see that his sons play for team India. The patriarch, confident that his sons have the makings of the two best batsmen in the world, sees them as his ticket out of anonymity and poverty.

The series does not have much depth so if you are looking for a serious yet light series, you should go ahead and watch selection day. The series is a bearable watch but definitely does not actually show the emotions of a true sport fan.
