A Story of Justice and Resistance

In the movie, Akshay Kumar plays C. Sankaran Nair, a lawyer who stood up against the British Empire for the Jallianwala Bagh tragedy. The trailer opens with a glimpse of the horrifying massacre and its impact across India. It then shifts to the courtroom, where Nair fights a legal battle against Madhavan’s character, Neville Mckinley, a lawyer defending the British Crown.

Ananya Panday’s role is introduced as a law student in the UK, adding another layer to the story. The film highlights the pain, struggle, and courage of those who fought for justice.

Sequel to a Historic Film

This is the second installment in the Kesari series. The first movie, released in 2019, was based on the Battle of Saragarhi, where 21 Sikh soldiers took on 10,000 Afghan invaders. In Kesari Chapter 2, the focus shifts to another critical chapter of Indian history.

A Tragic Event Remembered

The Jallianwala Bagh massacre happened on April 13, 1919, in Amritsar. Thousands had gathered to protest against British laws when General R.E.H. Dyer ordered his troops to open fire. Many lost their lives, and countless others were injured. This film aims to shed light on the courage of those who stood against injustice.

Kesari Chapter 2 is set to release in theaters on April 18.
