Stand-up comedian Samay Raina gained huge popularity after his talent show India’s Got Latent became a hit. While fans loved the performances by contestants, they also enjoyed the funny interactions between the judges, which included famous celebrities. However, last month, Samay and his fellow judges faced major trouble when YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, also known as BeerBiceps, made a controversial remark during an episode.
Following this, multiple FIRs were filed against them, and they were ordered to stop sharing content online. Weeks later, the Supreme Court granted relief to Ranveer. Now, Samay has finally recorded his statement, expressing regret over the incident.
The controversy began after Ranveer asked an uncomfortable question related to parents and intimacy on the show. As a result, Samay left for his Canada tour but was summoned multiple times. Finally, on Monday, March 24, he appeared before the Maharashtra Cyber Police in Navi Mumbai. During his statement, Samay apologized for the remarks made on his show and assured that he would be more careful in the future. He said, “I deeply regret what I said. It happened in the flow of the show, and I never meant to say it. I now realize it was wrong.”
Samay also admitted that the controversy affected his mental health and shared that his Canada tour did not go well.
For those who don’t know, in the last episode of India’s Got Latent, Ranveer had asked a contestant, “Would you rather watch your parents be intimate every day for the rest of your life or join in once to make it stop forever?” This question became widely discussed, with many criticizing BeerBiceps.
