The Kannada web series Shodha, starring actor-filmmaker Pawan Kumar in his first lead role, was supposed to release on Zee5 (via OTTplay Premium) on August 22. Promotions had already begun, and even the trailer was out. But suddenly, the platform announced a delay. Now, the show will premiere on August 29.
At a press event, RJ Pradeepa, Head of Originals at Zee5, revealed that the series includes some important cameos, including one by Kantara-fame Saptami Gowda. The team decided to add a few more scenes with her to make the story more engaging, which led to the postponement.
Directed by Sunil Mysuru (Orchestra, Mysuru!), Shodha also features Siri Ravikumar, Arun Sagar, and Anusha Ranganath. The story follows Rohit (Pawan Kumar), a lawyer in Madikeri, whose life changes when he suddenly fails to recognize his wife, Meera (Siri Ravikumar). Rohit believes she is an imposter trying to prove he is insane, while she claims he has brain trauma. The mystery lies in uncovering who is right and why someone would want him declared insane.
The series will have 6 episodes, each about 20 minutes long. Shodha is said to be adapted from the Hindi series Khoj – Parchaiyo Ke Uss Paar. It also marks the web debut of Arun Sagar, who plays a cop for the first time.
Fans are excited to see Pawan Kumar in this suspense thriller and how the fresh cast and gripping story will unfold on screen.
