Aslam’s Wife Slams Dhurandhar, Plans Legal Action
Aditya Dhar’s new film Dhurandhar is inspired by real events from India’s fight against terror in Pakistan, especially the gang violence in Karachi’s Lyari area. The movie includes characters based on real people, including Karachi’s late SP Chaudhary Aslam Khan, played by Sanjay Dutt.
Chaudhary Aslam’s wife, Noreen, recently reacted to her husband’s portrayal. She said Aslam was a huge fan of Sanjay Dutt, and she believed the actor would represent him well. But she strongly disliked one part of the trailer where a character calls Aslam “the child of a devil and a djinn.”
Noreen said this is disrespectful to Aslam and his mother. She added that if the movie shows her husband in a wrong or negative way, she will take legal action. She also questioned why Indian filmmakers “choose to show Pakistan negatively.”
Who was Chaudhary Aslam?
A famous and brave Karachi police officer, he led operations against major gangs in Lyari. He survived an attack in 2011 but was assassinated by the TTP in 2014.
About the film:
Dhurandhar stars Ranveer Singh as an Indian spy in Lyari, with Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, and R Madhavan. The film received mixed reviews but earned around ₹99 crore in its first weekend in India.
