Bobby Deol’s 1997 Song Goes Viral Again

Two old Bollywood songs have become viral again after Aryan Khan’s web series The Ba**ds of Bollywood*. One of them is Bobby Deol’s popular 1997 song “Duniya Haseeno Ka Mela” from the film Gupt.

In the series, Bobby Deol plays Bollywood superstar Ajay Talvar, and the song is shown as part of his late-90s film Sailaab. While the song appears briefly at a party in earlier episodes, it becomes important in the climax when Mona Singh’s character Neeta is digitally inserted as a background dancer—something the original 1997 video never had.

Since the series release on Netflix, the song has gone viral again, trending on Instagram and Spotify. The old YouTube video of the song gained 5 million new views in just four days.

The Ba**ds of Bollywood* is a satirical take on the Hindi film industry. Apart from Bobby and Mona, the show stars Lakshya, Sahher Bambba, Raghav Juyal, and Aanya Singh. It’s produced by Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment and is streaming now on Netflix.
