“Tarun Mansukhani Defends Housefull 5 Against Misogyny Talk”

Housefull 5 director Tarun Mansukhani has responded to criticism that his film is unfair or negative towards women. Some viewers have said the film objectifies women, but Tarun disagrees. He said in an interview with News18 Showsha that the movie is actually “driven by women” and people are choosing to see it from a negative angle.

Tarun explained that one of the main twists in the story is led by a female character, Sonam Bajwa, who double-crosses Riteish Deshmukh and pushes the plot forward. He added that another female character, Soundarya Sharma, is also a strong and suspicious part of the mystery. According to him, the women are the ones who control the story and drive the mission to get the money.

He said, “It depends on how you choose to watch the film. If someone wants to focus on just one side, they will. But the movie isn’t shallow – it has many layers, and I believe I’ve shown more than what people are pointing out.”

He also mentioned that the male characters in the film are shown as “flawed” – not as perfect heroes. He believes that the strong reactions from audiences mean the film is making an impact, and people are engaged.
