Bollywood’s $1.5B Richest Man, Bigger Than SRK
Shah Rukh Khan has made history by becoming the first Indian actor to enter the billionaire club, as per the Hurun India Rich List 2025. His net worth now stands at $1.4 billion (₹12,500 crore), making him one of the richest actors in the world.
But here’s the twist – Shah Rukh is not the richest person in Bollywood. That title goes to producer and entrepreneur Ronnie Screwvala, who has a fortune of $1.5 billion (₹13,300 crore approx.), according to both Hurun and Forbes.
Who is Ronnie Screwvala?
Ronnie Screwvala started his career in the 80s by making toothbrushes and later entered cable television. In 1990, he founded UTV, which grew into a major film studio. Disney later bought UTV in a billion-dollar deal.
As a producer, he has backed big films like Lakshya, Swades, Rang De Basanti, Jodhaa Akbar, Fashion, Uri, Kedarnath, and Sam Bahadur. He now runs RSVP Movies and has also built wealth through his businesses, including upGrad and Unilazer.

Hurun India Rich List 2025
The list highlights India’s richest people across industries. While SRK, Hrithik Roshan, Karan Johar, Juhi Chawla, and the Bachchans made the cut, some big names like Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Aamir Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, and Alia Bhatt did not feature this time.
