Kangana: My journey Was Tougher Than SRK’s

Actor and Member of Parliament Kangana Ranaut recently spoke about her success and how her journey in Bollywood was not easy. She compared her background with Shah Rukh Khan’s, saying she came from a very simple and humble place.

At an event in Delhi, Kangana shared, “Why did I get so much success? Maybe because I came from a small village that no one even knows—Bhamla. You talk about Shah Rukh Khan, he’s from Delhi and convent-educated. I had no such background.” She added, “Maybe people disagree, but I think my success comes from being brutally honest—with others and myself.”

Kangana was born in Bhamla, Himachal Pradesh. She ran away from home as a teenager to chase her dreams in Mumbai. Her first big break came at 19 with the film Gangster. Later, she starred in hits like Raaz 2 and Fashion. During the 2010s, she delivered several successful female-led films and won four National Awards.

Shah Rukh Khan, on the other hand, was born in Delhi. His father ran a canteen at the National School of Drama, and his mother was a magistrate. He started his career with TV shows like Fauji and Circus before moving to films. Movies like Darr, Baazigar, and Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge made him one of India’s biggest stars.

Kangana’s last film Emergency didn’t do well at the box office, but she’s now preparing for her Hollywood debut with the horror drama Blessed Be the Evil, set to release soon.
