Ranbir Felt Low Starting Animal: Anil Kapoor

After playing Sanjay Dutt in Sanju (2018), Ranbir Kapoor stayed away from films for 4 years. He returned in 2022 with Shamshera, opposite Vaani Kapoor. Fans were excited, but the film flopped at the box office and faced heavy criticism.

Soon after, Ranbir began shooting for Animal (2023) with Anil Kapoor. Recently, at the FICCI Frames event, Anil revealed that Ranbir was feeling down when he arrived on the set. Ranbir reportedly said, “Sab mujhe dekh rahe hai. Itni badhi flop di hai maine.” (Everyone is looking at me. I gave such a big flop.)

Anil Kapoor encouraged him, saying, “Ek acha shot dete hai, kal tak bhul jayega.” (Let’s just give it a good shot. You’ll forget everything by tomorrow.) He added that once you focus on honest work, success and failure don’t matter, and soon they were enjoying the shoot again.

In Animal, Ranbir played Anil’s son in a story about their strained relationship. The film became Ranbir’s highest-grossing movie and one of the biggest hits in Hindi cinema. Fans are now eagerly waiting for the sequel, Animal Park.
