Pagglait Movie Review: The Unseen side of a widow who is not ready for cry.
Well after a long time i can say this kind of content has come. I guess last time I have seen Queen where Kangana Ranaut performed really well along with reality of India. Now Sanya Malhotra has come with Pagglait with the different issue but yes I must say happiness level is same with both of them in character. Well we always seen movies where director shows sad side of a window but here Umesh Bist has come with a different side of a widow’s life.
Pagglait starts as a film about a family mourning the sudden demise of the oldest son who got married five months back. his family that gathers is hell-bent on running one another down causing untold misery to his widow, a nasty argument being who will look after her. The film’s title refers to ‘the streak of madness’ that her relatives believe Sandhya Giri (Malhotra) has. The impression is strengthened when her best friend, Nazia Zaidi (Shruti Sharma), responding to a social media post by one of Sandhya’s two younger sisters, lands up in her marital home – Shanti Kunj, Lucknow – and helps the widow shake things up, gently and one move at a time.
Even in today’s times, some families want to see their children married irrespective of how they feel about each other. Caste, religion everything comes into question when two individuals fall for each other and want to become life partners.
