War 2 Day 7: Hrithik-Jr NTR Film Crosses ₹300 Cr, Drops 40%

Ayan Mukerji’s War 2 has crossed the ₹300 crore mark worldwide in just a week, but the film is now facing a slowdown at the box office.
Box Office Update
On its seventh day, the spy thriller earned ₹5.50 crore net in India, the lowest single-day collection so far. With this, the total domestic net stands at ₹199 crore (₹238 crore gross). Just a few days earlier, the film had earned as high as ₹57.85 crore in a single day, but weekday drops have raised concerns for its lifetime earnings.
In overseas markets, War 2 collected just under $8 million (around ₹69 crore), taking its worldwide total to ₹307 crore after seven days.
Challenges Ahead
Despite the strong opening, the film now needs a big jump in its second weekend to cover its massive cost of ₹400 crore. The box office clash with Rajinikanth’s Coolie and mixed reviews with weak word of mouth have also hurt its performance.

War 2 is part of YRF’s Spy Universe, starring Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, and Kiara Advani. The post-credits scene features Bobby Deol introducing Alpha, the next film in the franchise, starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, set to release this December.
