Maharani 4 Was Challenging Due To Authority: Vipin Sharma
New Delhi: Actor Vipin Sharma says the toughest part of his role in Maharani 4 was showing authority as a powerful politician. In the SonyLIV series, Sharma plays Prime Minister Sudhakar Sriniwas Joshi, who stands against Huma Qureshi’s character, Rani Bharti.
Maharani, directed by Puneet Prakash, is a fictional political drama set in Bihar. The story follows a housewife who becomes the chief minister after her politician husband is sent to jail.
Talking about his role, Vipin Sharma said playing authority with calmness and dignity was not easy for him. “In real life, I’m very relaxed, fun, and casual. I’m not someone who naturally shows power,” he said.
Sharma also shared how happy he was to reunite with Huma Qureshi after many years. The two first worked together in Gangs of Wasseypur and later in Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana, though they didn’t share scenes in that film. This time, working closely together was a great experience for him.
Though he always wanted to be an actor, Sharma took a 12-year break from acting. He returned to films in 2007 with Taare Zameen Par, where he played the strict father of Darsheel Safary’s character. He credits the late actor Irrfan Khan for encouraging him to return to acting.
