Jitendra Kumar Thrilled About ‘Bhagwat 1’ Role

New Delhi – Actor Jitendra Kumar, known for Panchayat and Kota Factory, is stepping into a very different role in the upcoming crime thriller Bhagwat Chapter 1: Raakshas. He plays Sameer, a college professor with secrets, opposite Arshad Warsi’s inspector Vishwas Bhagwat, who investigates the disappearance of young women. The ZEE5 original film is directed by Akshay Shere.
Jitendra, 35, says this role is unlike anything he has done before. “I was very excited to step out of my comfort zone. The role was challenging, and I wasn’t sure how I would manage it. But each challenge brought new excitement,” he shared in an interview.
The film gives him a chance to explore a character with many shades, and he found working with Arshad Warsi inspiring. “Arshad sir is very chill but transforms completely into his character during scenes. Our set was very collaborative, and we discussed every scene to find the best approach,” Jitendra said.
Although Jitendra is famous for his roles in Panchayat and other films, he says he hasn’t been typecast. “It’s a challenge to play similar characters in different ways. I enjoy exploring new genres and roles, like I did with Bhagwat. I try to portray my character honestly and without judgment,” he added.
Bhagwat Chapter 1: Raakshas, produced by Jio Studios with Baweja Studios and Dog n Bone Pictures, will premiere on ZEE5 digitally on October 17. The film also stars Ayesha Kaduskar, Hemant Saini, and Tara-Alisha Berry.
